This is a vinyl LP pressing of Say You Don’t Love Me: The Last recordings of Davids Kimbrough Jr. This album is literally his last field recording work with Dolceola Recordings (a music label that documents American traditional music in analogue field recording with a portable reel-to-reel Ampex 601 and a ribbon microphone RCA 77DX). Recorded at his house in Holly Springs Mississippi, October 2017, the album includes some of Junior Kimbrough’s masterpieces such as “Meet Me in the City”, “Done Got Old” and “Lord Have Mercy on Me”, David Kimbrough Jr.’s own compositions, and a previously unpublished song written by Junior Kimbrough, “Say You Don’t Love Me”.
