Nadya Albertsson returns with her most personal work to date, Swaying, out now via Rebeccas Records. Blending diaristic storytelling with lush, layered instrumentation, the track captures a fleeting, transformative moment of queer self-discovery. Serving as the first glimpse of her forthcoming debut album Half Silk Half Blade set for release on 24 October 2025, Swaying offers an emotive introduction to the world Nadya
has crafted.

Born in Sweden and now based in Berlin, Nadya Albertsson honed her craft as a classical vocalist at Aberdeen University in Scotland before finding her voice within jazz and genreblending contemporary styles. A Scottish Young Jazz Musician finalist in 2018, her sound has been described as evoking Alice Coltrane, with a blend of Ella Fitzgerald, Esperanza Spalding and Erykah Badu. Her versatile and expansive vocal range has already been showcased on Rebecca Vasmants Blessed and Broken Biscuits and Amanda Whitings After Dark – projects championed by the likes of Gilles Peterson, Jamie Cullum, Jamz Supernova, BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Radio 1, and BBC Radio Scotland. With her forthcoming debut album, Half Silk Half Blade, Nadya steps fully into her own, offering music for fans of Olivia Dean and Cleo Sol.
