This 1980 US RCA pressing of “Pure Gold” represents an interesting chapter in Elvis’s posthumous catalog management. Released three years after the King’s passing, this compilation was RCA’s attempt to distill Elvis’s essence into a carefully curated collection of his most commercially successful tracks from across his career.
