Here’s a pressing that deserves more attention than it typically gets Elvis’s 1976 reissue of “His Hand In Mine” on RCA. The original 1960 release was Elvis’s first full gospel album, recorded during those incredible sessions at RCA Studio B in Nashville where he was backed by The Jordanaires and Millie Kirkham. What makes this album particularly significant is how it showcased Elvis’s deep spiritual roots and his genuine reverence for gospel music, something that often gets overshadowed by his rock and pop output. Songs like “He Knows Just What I Need” and “Swing Down Sweet Chariot” reveal a different side of Presley more introspective and connected to his Memphis church upbringing.
