In late August, 1969, a spectacular Danish landmark recording session, ‘C.M. Music Train’, took place in Copenhagen. The bandleader was saxophone player Carsten Meinert, who also composed the music for the session. At the time of this recording, the Carsten Meinert Quartet could be heard playing around Europe at various jazz festivals, and they had released a well-received album, ‘To You’, in 1968 (which also in time became a hard to locate item for collectors).
The other band members on the ‘C.M. Music Train’ recording were mostly upcoming young Danish musicians who would make their mark on the local music scene over the years that followed.
