Here’s something you don’t see every day an original Canadian RCA Victor pressing of The Guess Who’s breakthrough album “Wheatfield Soul.” This 1969 release marked a pivotal moment when Burton Cummings stepped up as lead vocalist after Chad Allan’s departure, and the band truly found their voice. The album spawned their first major international hit “These Eyes,” which cracked the top ten and established them as serious contenders beyond the Canadian borders. What makes this particularly special is hearing Cummings’ distinctive vocals and Randy Bachman’s guitar work in their formative stage, just before Bachman would leave to eventually form Bachmann-Turner Overdrive.
