Here’s a fascinating piece of bedroom pop history that captures Robin Skinner before the world knew him as Cavetown. This 2020 pressing of “16/04/16” compiles tracks originally recorded when Robin was just 16 years old, working from his childhood bedroom with nothing but basic recording equipment and an abundance of raw talent. The album title references the date these intimate home recordings were made, offering collectors a rare glimpse into the formative creative period of an artist who would soon become a defining voice for Gen Z indie pop.
