Rocky IV

The original motion picture soundtrack of Rocky IV was originally released in 1985. The soundtrack was successful on the strength of two top-five singles, Burning Heart by Survivor. and Living In America by James Brown.

“Living In America” showed the decadence, extravagance, and sheer bloated pompousness of the 80’s. The top-40 hit “No Easy Way Out” by Robert Tepper is also included. Perhaps the soundtrack’s most popular tune is “Eye Of The Tiger”, originally released by Survivor in 1982.

Rocky IV was a movie for the ages. The story of a man who had it all, only to lose so much overnight. It had a focus on personal, political, spiritual and athletic levels. The soundtrack and the film were big hits on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, enhanced by the world being at the height of the Cold War between Russia and the west.
